Also this summer the heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air will not take place. The organizers announced on 01 June on the website to postpone the festival to August 2022.
The decision was anything but easy for the organizers of the Wacken Open Air. Especially because not only they themselves, but also the metalheads who travel to Wacken in their thousands from all over the world every year to the festival, are in the middle of the planning and preparations.
Out of consideration for the health and safety of everyone involved – fans, crew, artists and all residents of Wacken and the surrounding area – and because there are still travel restrictions, Wacken Open Air will not take place until August 4-6, 2022.
