Because of the sharp decline in the incidence of infection, the Berlin Senate is now relaxing much earlier than originally planned. The relaxations include face-to-face classes at universities (from June 4), tourist overnight stays in hotels (from June 11), and less stringent contact restrictions. In addition, indoor food service establishments will be allowed to open starting June 4. Outdoor areas will no longer be subject to testing.
The decision on events is particularly pleasing. Up to 500 people will be allowed to attend an outdoor event starting June 4, subject to standard sanitation requirements and proof of vaccination, recovery or testing. Indoors, this goes with up to 100 guests, with technical ventilation systems also here with up to 500. Berlin’s mayor Michael Müller said they want to make as much as possible and as early as possible meetings possible again, as it says on the capital’s portal berlin.de.
