The Berlin pilot project seems to be working well so far. The project had nine events planned, with several cultural institutions getting involved.
So far, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Berlin Ensemble performances and the Berlin club scene were able to hold a pilot event.
Live music with conductor Kirill Petrenko was enjoyed by a thousand music lovers at the Philharmonie. Five hundred of them were tested decentrally, and another five hundred directly before the concert began. According to the artistic director Andrea Zietzschmann, it would be possible and safe to hold cultural events with hygiene rules and tests. According to a study conducted, 1/3 of the audience surveyed would prefer to be tested directly before the event, despite a longer waiting time.
Also 350 theater lovers and 70 club visitors could enjoy two performances of the play “Panikherz” and one club visit each.
After an Easter break from April 1 to 5, there will be a “Figaro” performance at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and “Francesca da Rimini” at the Deutsche Oper.
