5000 people attend a live concert in Barcelona

On 27th of March, 5000 concertgoers in Barcelona enjoyed a live act without any safety distance. Music lovers gathered at the Palau Sant Jordi hall on Barcelona’s local mountain Montjuïc and enjoyed the Spanish indie band “Love of Lesbian”. But how was this possible?

Visitors had to take a rapid antigen test on the same day of the concert. Those who could prove it negative with an app were then let in. In addition, the temperature of each individual was measured upon entry and FFP2 masks were distributed. The 5,000 visitors were divided into three zones in the hall, which is actually meant for more than 20,000 people. However, there were no explicit safety distance rules.

The concert was intended to provide an overview of whether and how live events can take place under corona measures.
