In recent months, cultural professionals have been exploring different ways to showcase their offerings online, rethinking and trying out different formats: Established channels like Instagram, Twitch and Co. were in use, but also sector-specific infrastructures like Spectyou or dringeblieben.de. Production and streaming was done in-house or in cooperation with regional broadcasters and public broadcasters such as Arte and rbb. At the same time, some creative artists are seeking independence from commercial platform giants and multipliers from outside the industry. The goal: individually configurable digital playout sites from and for the cultural sector with a wide reach.
Together with you and the cooperation partners of kulturBdigital and Kulturförderpunkt Berlin, the kulturBdigital Lab event will discuss the pros and cons of own and shared distribution platforms for streams/live events and corresponding usage experiences:
- How do you reach a larger/different audience and increase participation in cultural offerings?
- How to make culturally specific streaming platforms as user:friendly as possible?
- What infrastructures are needed? What costs can be incurred and what about the sustainable operation of platform solutions?
