An exciting year is coming to an end for Comacon. And in a very positive sense for us. The past 12 months were marked by priceless encounters with great people from the sub-sectors of the cultural and creative industries. We conducted exciting interviews with them for our magazine, were able to realise great video productions and produce insightful podcasts. We have also been able to realise the first Content Creator Festival in 2021, which would not have been possible without the extensive support from our growing network. For this we are very grateful. We are happy to say that we have been able to achieve a large part of our business goals. That cannot be taken for granted.
MORE TEAMPOWER AND THE FIRST FESTIVAL
One of these goals was to expand the team. Three new members in the editorial and video production departments brought more life into our Spandau office this year. With the increased team power, we were then able to face what was probably our biggest, but also most beautiful challenge of the year in late summer: the Content Creator Festival 2021. Over the course of two days, we welcomed over 20 guests both at the location in Berlin Neukölln and online. The panels, keynotes and workshops not only discussed the future of the cultural and creative industries, there were also fascinating dance moves and delicious food to try. The 18 programme points in total represented a broad spectrum of the KuK through artists, advocacy and science.
The Content Creator Festival 2021 not only further bonded us as a team, but also opened so many new doors for us, for which we cannot say thank you often enough. We are already looking forward to next year’s edition.
But of course, 2021 was once again far too heavily influenced by the pandemic that causes so much suffering, especially among creative professionals. The topic was omnipresent in our daily work and also kept us busy in the magazine. Driven by this, we also questioned ourselves and the Comacon offer this year and thought it through further. The course has now been set: Our goal is to make the voice of cultural and creative practitioners heard and to support and strengthen them in their individual processes. We see the KuK as the sum of its parts, which will only be able to master the challenges of our time as a whole. With Comacon, we would like to make our contribution here again next year and create even more access and facilitate networking.
VERSATILE CONTENT FOR THE KUK
Our magazine has proven to be a well-functioning instrument here. Last year, we conducted almost 30 interviews with interest groups, start-ups and, of course, creative professionals from all sub-sectors. These were framed by over 40 articles dealing with topics such as funding and support, technology and copyright law as well as advocacy. We provided the latest news of the day in a total of 225 shortcuts. You could enjoy the voice of Timm Lindenau eleven times when he said: “Welcome to the Comacon Podcast!” And last but not least, of course, many hours of video content from our Content Creator Festival 2021.
Now we are looking forward to 2022. We are looking forward to presenting new formats to you and are eagerly awaiting your feedback on the Comacon app expansion. And we are already looking forward to the projects with and for our friends, partners and customers.
Comacon wishes you happy holidays and a happy new year.
