There is hardly an industry that is surrounded by more myths and assumptions than the music industry.
Is it even possible to earn money here, are there even serious professions here, does it make sense to plan one’s career around a career in this industry that always feels like it’s in crisis?
Of course there is more than just the artist on stage – the more they become a “product” to be marketed, the more professions come into play.
Since there is hardly any area of life nowadays without music or sound, there are therefore also many serious and sometimes lucrative professions in this industry. On the one hand, there are many opportunities to build a professional existence in a very creative and exciting industry – on the other hand, this industry also offers many artists numerous opportunities to finance their own artistic work through a solid daytime job without having to wait tables or drive cabs.
