With 32,000 visitors at Kraftwerk, world-class artists like Thomas Hoepker, Sven Marquardt and Evelyn Bencicova and many more, Berlin Photo Week is very proud of the 2019 event. Expect no less in 2021, and the organizers can’t wait to share more information with you and most importantly, see you all in person.

The location

The third edition of the BERLIN PHOTO WEEK (BPW) photography festival will open on August 26, 2021. Until August 29, BPW welcomes visitors to the versatile ARENA Berlin. Once again, the festival will celebrate and bring to life the medium of photography in all its forms and discuss relevant topics. For photography enthusiasts, photo professionals and newcomers alike – there will be something exciting for everyone.

A central highlight of the festival is the Funplace, which already enjoyed great popularity in 2019. It presents the latest developments in the imaging industry in a playful way and invites visitors to experience and try out new photographic techniques in walk-through installations, photographic playgrounds and live photo shoots. Outside the hall, the program will be complemented by a food market, lounge areas and fun stations around the popular bathing ship. The vision of this year’s BERLIN PHOTO WEEK can also be felt and experienced outside the spacious ARENA complex.

In addition to the announced exhibitions “A Timeless Allure: The Photographic Art of George Hoyningen-Huene” (Villa Grisebach), “Punk!” (ARENA Club), “Koelbl – Wenders – Bender. 3 Generations Leica” (ARENA Halle) and Thomas Hoepker’s “Mauerkinder” (Wachturm am Schlesischen Busch), the Berlin photographic institution CHAUSSEE 36 is giving a new impetus with the exhibition “Heinz Hajek-Halke: Experiment”.
